Compressible Multicomponent Flow Calculations and Shock-bubble Interaction

چکیده
We report on the development of a numerical method to simulate two-dimensional compressible multicomponent flows. Our scheme is shockand interface-capturing, quasi-conservative and high-order accurate. We validate it for two-dimensional problems including shock-bubble interactions and examine the shockinduced asymetric collapse of a cylindrical gas bubble in water, where wave strengths and pulse durations are chosen to model conditions relevant to shockwave lithotripsy. In particular, we determine how the pressure at the surface of a nearby wall depends on the various properties of the pulse and on the geometry. We also describe the extension of the method to axisymmetric geometry and show preliminary results.

Detailed numerical simulation of shock-body interaction in 3D multicomponent flow using the RKDG numerical method and ”DiamondTorre” GPU algorithm of implementation
Interaction between a shock wave and an inhomogeneity in fluid has complicated behavior, including vortex and turbulence generating, mixing, shock wave scattering and reflection. In the present paper we deal with the numerical simulation of the considered process. The Euler equations of unsteady inviscid compressible three-dimensional flow are used into the four-equation model of multicomponent...

Shock waves generated at different parts of vehicle interact with the boundary layer over the surface at high Mach flows. The adverse pressure gradient across strong shock wave causes the flow to separate and peak loads are generated at separation and reattachment points. The size of separation bubble in the shock boundary layer interaction flows depends on various parameters. Reynolds-averaged...
متن کاملImplementation of WENO schemes in compressible multicomponent flow problems
High-order accurate shock-capturing schemes are capable of properly resolving discontinuities with correct wave speeds in single-fluid Riemann problems. However, when different fluids are present, oscillations develop at interfaces. A class of existing interface-capturing methods that suppress these oscillations is based on firstand second-order accurate reconstructions with Roe solvers. In thi...

This paper presents a second-order accurate adaptive Godunov method for twodimensional (2D) compressible multicomponent flows, which is an extension of the previous adaptive moving mesh method of Tang et al. (SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 41:487–515, 2003) to unstructured triangular meshes in place of the structured quadrangular meshes. The current algorithm solves the governing equations of 2D multicom...
متن کاملAn Efficient Shock-Capturing Algorithm for Compressible Multicomponent Problems
A simple shock-capturing approach to multicomponent flow problems is developed for the compressible Euler equations with a stiffened gas equation of state in multiple space dimensions. The algorithm uses a quasi-conservative formulation of the equations that is derived to ensure the correct fluid mixing when approximating the equations numerically with interfaces. A γ -based model and a volume-...
